Apple TV+ included with Canal+: the offer is only for 12 months depending on your subscription

Since April 20, subscribers with a Canal+ offer have the right to Apple TV+ at no additional cost. This is explained by an agreement between Apple and Canal+, the first of its kind. But beware: it is only included for 12 months depending on the case.

Canal+ and Apple TV+ initially suggested that the offer had no time limit. In other words, as long as a person is a subscriber and has an offer with Canal+, they will be able to take advantage of Apple TV+ content. Except that there is new information since.

Several advertisements praising the partnership are present in several cities of France. We can read in small:

From 20.04.2023, Apple TV+ offered for 12 months (instead of €6.99/month), in mainland France, to any Canal+ subscriber, subject to not modifying the subscription plan and the availability of programs. At the end of 10 months, Apple TV+ will automatically be removed from your subscription plan. Terms on “boutique.canalplus.com”.

The Canal+ site does not specifically mention that you have to pay after 12 months if you want to keep access. Fortunately, customer service allow to have a clarification. If you have a Canal+ subscription (Canal+, Canal+ Ciné Séries, Canal+ Sport or Canal+ Friends and Family), Apple TV+ is included with no time limit. If you have another subscription (excluding Canal+, the old ones like CanalSat Cinéma Series), you have to request access to Apple TV+ yourself. And in this case, the service is only offered for 12 months. The service will be withdrawn from the offer after the 12 months.
