Apple spent more than $6 billion on R&D in the last quarter of 2021
Apple did not only break turnover and profit records during its fiscal Q1 (Q4 2021). The firm of Cupertino also spent a lot on R&D (research and development) over the same period. 6.306 billion dollars were allocated to R&D in Q4 (+9.25%), a record for Apple (5.1 billion dollars last year). Over the full year, Apple will have released more than 23 billion dollars in R&D and thus joins the leading group of companies that spend the most on tomorrow’s innovations.

But what is Apple working on to spend so much?
