Apple reportedly delays new MacBook Pro and Mac mini M2 to 2023

We should finally expect the arrival of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and the Mac mini M2 in the first quarter of 2023 rather than the end of 2022. According to Mark Gurman of BloombergApple has decided to postpone the release of the order of a few months.

It had been suggested that Apple was planning to launch its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, as well as the Mac mini with the M2 chip, in November. The arrival of portable Macs at this time was in itself plausible given that Apple has chosen November for the past few years to launch new portable computers. This should also have been the case in 2022, but there would ultimately be a postponement to the first quarter of 2023.

This announcement is moderately a surprise following the comments of Tim Cook after the publication of the financial results of Apple. The manufacturer’s manager said that the “Apple’s product line is established” before the holiday season, which could suggest that there won’t be any new device launches this year. Luca Maestri, Apple’s CFO, provided more conclusive confirmation saying: “We have a very tough comparison to last year, which had the advantage of the launch of our redesigned MacBook Pro with the M1 chip.”

Apple is also working on a Mac Pro and it should logically also arrive in 2023. Some details about it have recently leaked.
