Gurman predicts Apple Reality in the spring
Mark Gurman, Bloomberg’s usually very reliable Apple analyst, expects Apple Reality this spring. Gurman follows the same timeline as Ming-Chi Kuo, who previously predicted that Apple Reality will appear this spring.
According to Kuo, there is a chance that this spring is still too early and that Apple will release the VR glasses a little later. This would then happen during Apple’s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June. Gurman is now more certain about this: he predicts that the glasses will be announced before this event. The VR glasses should then go on sale in the fall of this year.
Apple Reality would already be announced in January
Apple, as Kuo previously reported, is behind schedule due to software issues, Gurman said. Originally, the announcement of the VR glasses was scheduled for this month, but due to development issues, this launch has now been moved to spring.
Due to these issues, Apple has now opted to move developers from other projects to the team developing xrOS. As a result, other operating systems, such as iOS 17 or iPadOS 17, are unlikely to receive major updates this year.

First version of Apple Reality already sent to developers
Gurman states that the first version of the Apple Reality has already been sent to developers. With this they can get started to make apps or games. Gurman emphasizes that this is still a prototype, the development team still needs the coming months to complete the product.
Major updates for other devices will not be forthcoming this year
Major updates for other Apple devices will not be forthcoming this year, Gurman expects. For example, no major changes are expected for the AirPods and Apple Watch. There will probably be an Apple Silicon Mac Pro, just like a MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen.
Another interesting possible update is a new version of the HomePod. The smart speaker last came out in 2018 and it’s high time for an update. Exactly what Apple will come up with this year remains a guess, but Kuo and Gurman at least agree on one thing: the Apple Reality will appear this year.
