Apple may pull these three iPhones from sale in 2022

Every year, Apple proudly announces new iPhones. And while that’s happening, the tech giant is quietly pulling older iPhone models off the (online) shelves. These are the iPhones that are expected to disappear from the Apple Store in 2022.

Read on after the ad.

Which iPhones will disappear in 2022?

The year 2022 is a fun iPhone year. Five new iPhones are expected to appear in this calendar year. Apple launched the first in March: the third-generation iPhone SE. The other four phones will follow in September. It is rumored to be an iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

And as these brand new devices hit the (virtual) shelves of the Apple Store, Apple is silently saying goodbye to a few older iPhone models. Last year, it was the iPhone XR and iPhone 12 Pro (Max) that had to leave the field after the iPhone 13 release.

If we look at the past few years, there is a good chance that these devices will disappear from the range after the iPhone 14 release:

The older iPhones Apple will probably keep are the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 12. Traditionally, Apple gives older phones significant price reductions after a new release. They are often more than a hundred euros cheaper. If you want to buy an iPhone 13 (mini) or iPhone 12, then it can be smart to wait for the iPhone 14 to be launched.

Outside of Apple

The iPhone 13 Pro (Max) and iPhone 11 will probably disappear from the Apple Store, but you can still buy the devices at other (online) stores. There, the older devices usually drop in price in the autumn.
