Apple M2: the chip of the next Macs stands out before the keynote
As you can imagine, Apple is preparing an M2 chip for its next Macs and it stands out today, a few days before the keynote which will take place on March 8.
The Apple M2 chip is approaching
A developer has indicated to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman that Apple has been testing Macs for a few weeks that have an 8-core processor and a 10-core graphics chip. This corresponds to the characteristics of Apple’s M2 chip already mentioned a few months ago. The tests concern Macs with the M2 chip that run macOS 12.3, macOS 12.4 and even macOS 13. Apple will present macOS 13 in June at WWDC.
This story recalls what happened a few months ago. The names of the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips had appeared shortly before Apple’s official presentation of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros which embed these chips. Naturally, that suggests a potential keynote announcement on March 8, especially since rumors have it that a new 13-inch MacBook Pro will be at the conference. This one could have the right to Apple’s M2 chip.
Still according to rumors, the M2 chip will be more powerful than the M1, but the M1 Pro and M1 Max would still be more efficient.
