Apple does not give up: iPhone is allowed to do it again

The iPhone 12 is certainly a success for Apple, but one variant is out of line and on the brink. But now there is good news from Apple, because the dubious model can shine again in a new edition.

It had been waiting for a long time, but when Apple actually presented a potent tiny mobile phone with the iPhone 12 mini in autumn 2020, nobody wanted the device anymore. Well, at least the sales figures are hugely disappointing. So it’s questionable whether that small iPhone any more at all successor gets.

iPhone 12 mini: Apple’s successor is coming

Get it. None other than the well-known Apple insider Jon Prosser is currently providing relief. In the latest edition of “Front Page Tech” the bustling “traitor” confirms Apple’s positive intentions. As a result Apple is firmly planning with an iPhone 13 mini or possibly iPhone 12s mini – depending on which name the manufacturer ultimately decides on. And for this successor, the chances of sales success could ultimately be even better, Prosser has a hypothesis on this.

The iPhone 12 mini was introduced last year, what else was worth mentioning in 2020? We look back:

Accordingly, the iPhone SE, which Apple presented in spring 2020, cannibalized the sales of the iPhone 12 mini. If you were interested in a small Apple cell phone, you would probably have already grabbed the SE. For this year, however, the insider does not expect a new iPhone SE, at most Apple will push a larger Plus model in the spring. But of course this does not take the place of the mini model. Ergo: For a iPhone 13 mini remains more space in the portfolio – the Mini factor of the iPhone 12 thus gets a second chance with the customer.

The failure: Nobody wants the little iPhone

What had happened to the iPhone 12 mini so far? At the beginning of the year there were already reports of low demand in the first few days after the start of sales. Last week the message about a possible one followed Production stop in the second quarter. According to JP Morgan, the demand is simply too low for Apple to need even higher quantities. The goods in stock should therefore be sufficient until the end of the term to satisfy the low level of purchase interest.

Speaking of which: Finally, the frightening numbers were confirmed again, which only 5 percent of iPhone buyers picked up the mini. Even older devices like the iPhone 11 sell much better there. A resounding success looks different. Therefore At least prices are already falling noticeably. Even so, the little “loser” gets another one second chance for price-conscious buyers.
