After years of rumors, the Apple Car seems to really come onto the market in 2026. The big question: how expensive will Apple’s first car be?

Since the creation of Project Titan, the team of big names behind the Apple Car, there have been many rumors about the car’s release date. For a moment it seemed that the Apple Car would not make it to the finish line at all; the team that produces the car was temporarily disbanded.

At the beginning of this year, the team’s engine was restarted, which means that work is again being done on the futuristic car. As a result, there finally seems to be clarity about when the car will appear: the Apple Car will be on the market in 2026.

Apple Car will not become fully self-driving after all

Apple’s original plan was to make the car fully autonomous. The Apple Car wouldn’t even have a steering wheel or pedals in that case. This plan has since been adjusted: the car is now only self-driving on the highways. In this scenario, the car will of course have a steering wheel and pedals.

Apple focuses on entertainment in the Apple Car. If the car drives fully autonomously on the highway, you as the driver must be able to watch a movie or play a game. The car then warns you well in advance if you have to take over driving again.

Design of the Apple Car: much is still unclear

Not much is known about the design of the Apple Car. So the car will most likely have a steering wheel and pedals, making it look less futuristic than Apple itself had hoped. The seats in the back of the Apple Car are facing each other, instead of behind each other in normal cars. This means you can look at your fellow passengers and talk to each other more easily.

The technical content of the Apple Car is also still unknown. It is certain that it will be an electric car, Apple would already have a ‘revolutionary battery’. This ensures that this Apple Car can drive further and faster in 2026 than, for example, the current Tesla models. But until we hear real news, it will remain speculation.

The big question: how expensive will Apple’s first car be?

The big question, of course, is how expensive Apple’s first car will be. The simple answer: that is not yet clear. What we do know is a maximum price: Apple does not intend to sell the car for more than 100,000 US dollars. This is already ‘cheaper’ than the first target of USD 120,000.

Whether this only concerns the most expensive version or whether all models will be so expensive is still unclear. In any case, it is certain that the Apple Car in 2026 will be accompanied by a fairly high price tag.

The first design will be ready in 2024

Which revolutions Apple will bring to the car market with this price tag remains to be seen. The first design must be completed in 2024, so that it can be tested in 2025. The Apple Car will then be launched on the market in 2026. Whether these years are feasible this time remains to be seen, only time will tell.
