Read on after the ad.

Apple AR/VR glasses coming in 2023

It’s almost like a fairy tale: Apple’s mixed reality glasses. When will he come, what can he do and what will he look like? Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks he has an answer to the first question. According to him, the manufacturer from Cupertino will already launch its AR/VR glasses in January 2023. That means that we only have to be patient for a little longer than half a year.

According to Kuo, the device has the potential to become ‘a game changer for the headset industry’. He also thinks that the release of Apple AR/VR glasses will ensure that many other manufacturers will release similar headsets. This will give the industry a big boost and it is likely that significant steps will be taken in the field of AR and VR in a short time.

Although Apple’s focus has been quite on AR lately, Kuo expects the manufacturer to see a bright future in VR as well. The AR/VR glasses will therefore become ‘Apple’s most complicated product ever’, according to the analyst. The device should not be confused with Apple’s AR glasses, which will only come on the market later. According to Kuo, the AR/VR glasses mainly focus on playing games and discovering virtual worlds.

More about mixed reality and VR

Mixed reality (MR) blurs the line between the physical and the virtual world. The environment is mapped, after which the device ‘projects’ virtual objects into it. These are of course only visible when wearing the glasses. A mixed reality headset is not transparent, but looks like VR glasses. Thanks to multiple cameras, the user sees his surroundings on a number of ultra-high-resolution screens.

Because the glasses are built like VR glasses, users can also imagine themselves in fully digital worlds. In that case, the physical world is no longer visible. The possibilities of AR and VR are endless, so we’re really excited to see what Apple has in store for us.
