ANWB En route now shows available charging stations in the area

The ANWB Route app not only shows nearby charging stations, but also charging stations that are available for use. That saves another ride or walk to see if there is room for your electric car.

ANWB On the way

The ANWB Weg app contains a lot of information for car drivers. You will find current traffic information, route and traffic alerts. There is also a route planner, and you can get parking advice at your destination, or pay for your parking ticket immediately with the app. You can also view current petrol prices and report breakdowns to the Roadside Assistance. Nearby charging stations have also been available in the app for a while, but thanks to an update you will now also find an overview of available charging stations.

The charging station function is centrally located in the navigation bar at the bottom of the app. You can search by address and immediately see a list of results. If you drag that list up, two filter options are added: gas stations and charging stations. There is also an option to sort the overview by distance or price. As soon as you tap on a result, you immediately see which piles are available. Charging stations that are defective or ‘unreachable’ are also displayed.

The availability of the charging stations is very clearly indicated via dots at the location:

• Red dot: In use
• Green ball: Available
• Red ball with a stripe: unreachable

Since this year, you can also contact roadside assistance directly in the event of a car breakdown via the ANWB app. You then send your breakdown file digitally and you also share your location with your smartphone.
