Google Calculator exceeds one billion downloads

Despite the fact that the application is pre-installed in many smartphones, it has seen a significant increase in the number of downloads since 2019. Users probably like the simple design and maybe the fact that it’s an application directly from Google. Or do only Google Play store algorithms prefer it to other calculators?

It is a relatively simple calculator with several scientific functions. There are also much more sophisticated calculators in Google Play, but it’s definitely enough for common basic calculations. Interestingly, the application received the last update in October 2019.

An interesting ranking

According to information from Wikipedia, a billion downloads on Google Play have already been achieved by 54 applications. Many of them belong to Google and they tend to be pre-installed on smartphones. Only one has managed to record more than 10 billion downloads so far. This is a Google Play Services app, which is a must for your Android smartphone to work properly. Therefore, we are not surprised that it comes first.

So far, 5 billion downloads have been recorded by 14 applications. Most of them are from Google. These include YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Chrome, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Hangouts.
