Annoying pop-ups from cookies are now a thing of the past!

They no longer have to annoy you, because we have some tips to get rid of those annoying pop-ups from cookies.

The warnings have scarred the internet since the EU made them mandatory for most sites. You keep clicking them away, and you keep getting annoyed. Lawmakers were understandably concerned about companies tracking users as they browse the web. The notifications are their attempt to protect our privacy.

Cookie popups

Everyone hates them. Nobody reads them and sites use vague patterns to get their terms to be accepted, and the popups make browsing a bit less enjoyable. However, there are tools that block and bypass the ubiquitous warnings of these trackers.

One of our favorites is Super Agent. This browser extension automatically fills in pop-up forms for cookies. After installing the extension, you can choose which tracking cookies you want to accept or reject. The extension then automatically fills in the consent forms based on your preferences. The company behind Super Agent also says never to store your data. Super Agent is available in Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

Another application is Consent-O-Matic. This system takes a similar approach to Super Agent. You can program the tool to automatically apply your consent choices to new sites. The open-source browser extension will then navigate through the popups on your behalf, although it won’t work on every site. The extension was invented by privacy researchers who were tired of companies violating the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

not enough yet

Isn’t this enough? Then there are many other tools that offer something similar. But the above two are quite effective. If you don’t want to use third-party tools, you can. You can also block all cookies via your browser settings – although this can disrupt many site functions.

Another option is to install a privacy-first web browser like Tor, which doesn’t store cookies by default.
