Android games also on Windows? Google is preparing a novelty

While Amazon and Microsoft are planning to support Android applications on Windows 11, Google will be able to play selected games created for Android on your computer next year. The novelty was brought by the Android Authority portal.

The first mention of Google working on the news appeared earlier this year in a document from a lawsuit filed by Apple and Epic. The 70-page document from October 2020, according to The Verge portal, described Google’s ambitious goals of getting Android games on Windows as early as 2022. For now, the company seems to be on schedule and has now officially unveiled part of its vision to the world.

You will also be able to play the best Android games on your computer next year

First of all, Google pointed out that the news was not the result of a partnership with Microsoft. This will be a standalone application that will need to be installed on your computer and will support devices running Windows 10 or later. The games will be delivered through the Google Play Games platform, and the data stored in the games will be synchronized between the devices. As a result, you’ll need to sign in to your Google Account before using the app.

It is not yet known which titles will be available in the application. However, Google mentioned “choosing the best games for Android” when it was introduced, so it will obviously be limited at least from the beginning.

Unfortunately, the company did not reveal more details. So there are a lot of unanswered questions in the air, including what the hardware requirements will be, whether it will be an emulator or how games created specifically for smartphones (such as Pokémon Go) will work on Windows.
