However, it seems that the carmaker has finally decided to improve its own system in electric cars so that the user does not need to reach for his smartphone. Developer AAWireless however, it sees it differently and brings the application TeslAAwhich will launch the Android Auto platform on the touch screens of Tesla vehicles.

However, it has a small hook. The application uses Tesla’s built-in internet browser for this. It first connects to the electric car via Bluetooth, connects Wi-Fi to the mobile hotspot and on the website androidwheels.com displays the Android Auto interface. According to the developer, the application works with Tesla models that support Netflix, YouTube and Disney +.

The application does not work completely correctly yet

Of course, this solution still has enough flies. For example, the video being played stops responding when rewinding. Tesla will also disconnect from the Wi-Fi hotspot if your smartphone loses signal for a long time. The developer also warns against charging the smartphone wirelessly, which could lead to extreme overheating when connected.

The application will of course be developed, bugs should be fixed in future updates and new features are likely to appear. TeslAA is available in the Google Play store for 4.99 euros.
