Android 13 puts an end to something really annoying
The new Android 13 is a welcome update, especially because it introduces a new feature.
Yesterday we wrote about it, but new functionalities of Android 13 are trickling in. Google released the first developer preview of Android 13 yesterday. This early build has some interesting new features such as Material You themes for all apps. But one new feature is very welcome.

Many people don’t value it that much at first, but it’s an essential part of how notifications work. Apps in Android 13 will ask for your permission to send you push notifications when they are first launched. Now you are going crazy with all the notifications and you have to turn off the notifications afterwards.
Android 13’s notification permission dialog might look like this. Back in January, Android Police posted a screenshot of what the pop-up screen for this permission looks like. So we already knew that Google was working on this feature before.
You don’t need to have a degree in mathematics to understand this. You have two options to choose from.
Still handy
You would think: what does that matter to me? Well, it can make your life a lot easier. If you install an app on Android, you will still be automatically signed in to receive all notifications. If you don’t want this, you have to endlessly click through all the settings and options to eventually turn off the notifications. With the new version of Android, you will be asked in advance whether you would like to receive notifications specifically for an app. So think carefully about whether you would like that.
This feature is expected to be available to all of us by the end of this year.
