Android 12 improves multitasking of two applications on a split screen

After many years, the latest version of Android 11 has brought support for displaying two applications on one screen. The function that Samsung smartphones, for example, have already had for several years thanks to the extension. Google has this feature in the next version of its operating system Android 12 according to the portal AndroidCentral even better.

The new mode pairs the selected applications

The split screen two application function in Android 11 allows you to open two applications on the display at the same time. Sadly, however, activating this feature is not user-friendly or optimized for folding smartphones. In Android 12, it should be improved and the mode added App Pairs. According to its description, the user will be able to group two applications under a shortcut and then automatically launch them side by side in split screen mode with a simple click.

The great news is that such paired applications will appear in the list of recently launched applications. Of course, it should be a divider or a line, which you move by resizing the applications on the screen. You can even change the positions of two paired applications by double-tapping the splitter. The new feature will certainly be welcomed by users, but in the coming months only testers of the Android 12 preview for developers will be able to use it.

Google continues to catch up with the unrivaled Samsung in the display of several applications

Because Android’s built-in split screen feature doesn’t yet work perfectly, several manufacturers have created their own split screen alternatives. Microsoft Surface Duo offers “application groups” and allows users to open two applications simultaneously using one-click shortcuts. LG has a similar function in the rotating wing of the LG Wing and in dual displays for flagship smartphones such as the LG V60 ThinQ.

The South Korean company is furthest in displaying multiple applications on one screen. The ability to display two applications on one screen was already available in 2012 in the groundbreaking Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smartphone within the TouchWiz superstructure. You can easily resize them as you are used to from the Windows desktop system.
