Android 12 for Samsung phones: good news for Germany
Samsung is deeply preparing to bring Android 12 to its Galaxy smartphones. It is now clear that German customers can also take part in testing Google’s new operating system in advance. But there are small restrictions that you should be aware of.
Android 12: Beta for Samsung Galaxy S21 also in Germany
A few days ago we reported that Samsung in South Korea announced the beta test for Android 12 and will start in September. It is now clear that this test will not only take place in Samsung’s home country, but also in the USA and Germany. In the official Samsung forum, the company announced the test for the Galaxy S21 smartphones as follows:
The exact day on which the beta test starts is not known. Samsung only states that the beta will open date all details are stored in the Samsung Members App will. This is also the usual way Samsung goes. You have to activate yourself via the Members App in order to receive the new version of Android 12 with One UI 4.0 in the beta version.
There are two things to keep in mind:
- The number of places for Samsung beta tests is limited per model and country. So you may not be able to participate.
- The beta versions still contain many errors, especially at the beginning. So you shouldn’t install the beta version on a smartphone that you actually use actively in everyday life.
I had the latter experience in particular with the beta of Android 12 on the Pixel 5. There were mistakes that I made not expected at the development stage have. For example, notifications were no longer displayed and such jokes.
in the Video do you see what changes in Android 12:
Later also for other Samsung smartphones
Of course, Samsung initially supplies the latest Galaxy S21 smartphones. Later, older models should also receive a beta test. The Galaxy S20 series and Note 20 series in particular should follow in a few weeks. That final update to Android 12 is expected in November or December 2021.
