The One UI 3.0 update is now rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, which also includes the Samsung S20 Plus and Samsung S20 Ultra. One UI 3.0 is Samsung’s own Android ‘shell’ and based on Android 11, the latest version of the operating system. You will automatically receive a notification when the update is ready for your device.

It seems that Vodafone-branded devices are next. Did you buy your Samsung Galaxy S20 from another provider or webshop? Then you may have to be patient for a few days / weeks. Via the settings menu you can check under the Software tab whether Android 11 is already ready for Samsung Galaxy S20.

Is this the case? Always make a backup of your smartphone in advance. In the unlikely event that the update goes wrong, you will in any case not lose any personal information. Also connect your Samsung to the charger during the update. This way you prevent the device from failing in the meantime. It is also wise to download the Android 11 update via WiFi: the installation file is quite substantial.

This brings One UI 3

One UI 3.0, which is based on Android 11, is the latest version of Samsung’s operating system. For example, many applications have received a makeover in terms of design, voice assistant Bixby has just become a bit smarter and the camera app has been given some functions.

You can also get started with all-new features, including ‘Tap twice to sleep’. As you would expect from its name, this option automatically locks your Samsung S20 phone when you tap the screen twice. Do you want to know more about the update? Then read our extensive review of Android 11.
