AMD Ryzen, great display and decent price

A few days ago, Huawei officially introduced its new MateBook 16 laptop. As the name suggests, it has a 16 ″ display, the latest AMD Ryzen processors or, somewhat surprisingly, a relatively low weight of less than 2 kg. So let’s imagine it.

Huawei Matebook 16 officially

We get to choose from two variants. The cheaper one will offer a processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600H (6 cores / 12 threads) and the more expensive one AMD Ryzen 7 5800H (8 cores / 16 threads). Both processors are manufactured using a 7nm process and the maximum TDP is 54 W. In both cases, it takes care of the graphics performance integrated Vega graphics, unfortunately you cannot choose any dedicated one. On the other hand, it will be enough for most common tasks and surprisingly also for some games, especially in combination with Dual-Channel 16 GB RAM.

The dominant feature of the laptop is then 16 ″ IPS display with a 3: 2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2520 x 1680 pixels. There is also HDR support and 100% sRGB coverage. The keyboard is relatively small, but thanks to that we got stereo speakers. The overall design is a bit like a 16 ″ MacBook Pro. In terms of port equipment, there are two USB-C, one USB-A 3.2 Gen1, HDMI or audio jack. Ethernet is missing, but on the other hand Wi-Fi 6 is not missing.

Huawei immediately supplies a 135 W adapter to the laptop with support for Huawei SuperCharge technology, so in addition to the laptop, you can quickly charge your phone via it. It also surprises with 12.5 hours of battery life when playing video. And the price? We will pay CNY 6,300 for the basic model, which is about 20,400 crowns without tax. It is not clear at this time whether it will reach the global market.

How do you like the new Huawei laptop?
