Amazon Prime is my #1 choice for one simple reason

Netflix and Disney+ can’t keep up: Amazon has the best offer with Prime

Amazon Prime Video is best choice among streaming services at least from my point of view. In no way do I want to deny Netflix and Disney+ their right to exist, how would you get there? Both have a remarkable offering. And yet I have to stick to it: Prime wins. But first, a few words about the competition:

As Marvel fans, which I count myself among, we have the long run little choice but to subscribe to Disney+ or treat yourself to it for a month whenever there’s something new to see from the MCU. Apart from buying a film through Prime Video at some point, we Marvel viewers probably have no other chance of getting to the new stories outside of the cinema. This is also shown by the example of the disappearing Marvel series on Netflix.

Speaking of Netflix: A clear recommendation on my part here too, some of my absolute favorites are simply there. After far too many years, I’ve finally gotten around to continuing the Avatar series. For anime fans, Netflix is ​​the best choice among the major streaming services anyway. Among the in-house productions there is always a real treat – the Santa Clarita Diet (watch on Netflix) says hello.

Prime is more than video: Amazon convinces with an all-round package

Nevertheless, in my personal price-performance comparison, Amazon Prime Video wins – unlike recently at YouGov, where you just finished second, behind YouTube of all places. The reason is simple: There is simply more for the money at Amazon.

The selection of the streaming offer may lag behind Netflix a bit, but in the end it’s just a matter of taste. Finally also has prime video worth seeing titles, both in the film and in the series area that you don’t get anywhere else. The new edition “Reacher” is currently doing really well, with “LOL: Last One Laughing” you also have a guarantee of success in Germany. In addition, there will soon be the Lord of the Rings series, which is controversial among the fan base but is almost certain to be successful. My personal favorites include: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Flight Attendant with Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, and Good Omens.

With Amazon’s financially strong substructure, there is hardly any need to worry about sequels to successful series – it only becomes critical if you have a niche taste. But Amazon is not an isolated case.

Why is Amazon Prime the best choice for me? It’s a victory of sanity

What sets Amazon Prime apart and ensures what I consider to be a clear win is the trappings that a Prime membership has to offer: Amazon Music Prime is included. If you don’t necessarily need one or the other indispensable Spotify playlist, you can save yourself another streaming service – the price-performance score increases.

Likewise with included access to Prime Gaming, to which the group will certainly devote even more attention in the future. And then of course there is the nucleus of Prime, the Premium shipping at no extra charge. Prime Reading also gives you access to a changing selection of e-books, and since the takeover a few years ago you can test Audible extensively if you prefer to listen to books and podcasts.

The shortcoming: Of course, Amazon restricts the libraries here, if you are looking for a specific album or video game, it can happen that it is not currently on offer. If you want more, you have to pay more for Amazon Music Unlimited.

In the basic versions, however all these services included in one price, which undercuts Disney+ and where only the basic version of Netflix, which is also cheaper, can catch up. It remains to be seen whether this will remain the case. A price increase for Prime in the US was recently announced.

Nevertheless: films, series, documentaries and theme channels in video streaming, music, some games, books, podcasts and the premium delivery advantage for 7.99 euros per month (view at Amazon) – If you disregard personal taste, it’s not that easy to catch up with Prime in terms of value for money.
