Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e: Great endurance at an affordable price

Huami, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, introduced a new series of smart watches in September – Amazfit GTS 2 and Amazfit GTR 2. At the beginning of December, the GTS 2 also received its mini version, and today the company again introduced two cheaper models – Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e. They offer longer battery life, but do not have a built-in WIFI module.

Amazfit GTS 2e

The Amazfit GTS 2e smart watch, as well as its GTS 2 predecessor, features a 1.65-inch AMOLED display, a 246 mAh battery and support for connectivity via Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and GPS modules. Dimensions and weight also remained the same. However, they lack a built-in WIFI module and their own internal storage. Without the WIFI module, the watch must rely on the connection of a smartphone, but thanks to that its battery will last longer charged – 14 days in normal use and up to 24 days in minimal use.

Amazfit GTR 2e

The Amazfit GTR 2e is again very similar to the GTR 2. Both have a circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display, support for Bluetooth, NFC and GPS connectivity and a battery capacity of 471 mAh. As with the GTS 2e model, the watch lacks a WIFI module, thanks to which it lasts for one charge for 14 days in normal use and up to 45 days in minimal use.

Price and availability

Amazfit GTR 2e and Amazfit GTS 2e will cost 799 yuan in China, which is about 100 euros, according to the GSM Arena portal. They will be available in three colors. However, whether or when they will be available in Europe is questionable.
