Volvo was the first car brand to fully integrate Google Auto into the vehicle. Now Volvo is taking the next step with the full integration of Google Assistant.

Using Google Assistant in the car is nothing special with Android Auto. You can use it in combination with, for example, Spotify or Google Maps. But Volvo is taking a unique next step here with Google Assistant. The voice assistant of the American tech company also works with other aspects of the car. For example, to switch on the heating in your electric XC40 in advance.

It is also possible to unlock or unlock the car via the assistant. This does not mean that everyone can unlock the car with your phone. There is a two-factor authentication process that ensures only the right people can hear or access the right information at the right time

The number of commands will be further expanded in the long term. Among other things, a charging schedule, which allows customers to set specific times when they want their car to start charging, is on the agenda.

The new feature will be available to all Volvo drivers with Android-based infotainment in the coming months.
