Face ID: can be used horizontally in iOS 16

Apple has another nice feature for you in iOS 16, because Face ID can now also be used horizontally. The iPad had this feature for some time, but on the iPhone you still had to hold the screen vertically to unlock the device with Face ID.

If you use your iPhone a lot horizontally, this is of course a great addition. You no longer have to turn your smartphone every time you want to unlock it horizontally. There is a small but, because the function does not work on all iPhones at the moment.

… but not on all iPhones

Face ID cannot be used horizontally on all iPhones. At the moment, Face ID only works in landscape view on the following iPhone devices.

Older iPhones can only use Face ID vertically at this point. Maybe Apple will change this in the future, but for now you need an iPhone 13 with iOS 16.
