almost a fifth of readers do not use bluetooth speakers outdoors

19 percent of Androidworld readers do not listen to music aloud through their own Bluetooth speaker when they are outdoors. It is also not recommended in many places, such as outdoor swimming pools. JackTDip doesn’t like it either: “I prefer to use earbuds or headphones so that I can listen to my music or podcast without disturbing others. Sound is also much clear from an earbud or headphones. I myself don’t like hearing other people’s music when I’m outside.”

Listening to music in the park

However, many people are also fans of listening to good music in the park or on the beach, and the sound quality of a portable speaker is especially important: 53 percent choose the speaker accordingly.

1 percent say they do not use a speaker, but use a smartphone to listen to music aloud. 5 percent would like a smart assistant on the speaker, so you can ask your speaker some questions and give commands. 4 percent like to take the speaker to the swimming pool and therefore want the device to be able to withstand water. sergetwb does have a tip for water rats: “Good sound is the most important thing to me. And waterproof since I use it most in the bathroom. After using a jbl flip for a few years now very satisfied with the miracle tree.”

Nice and small

Multi-room options are considered very important by 3 percent of readers, while 4 percent want it to be very loud. Appearance is not that important: only 0.31 percent consider it important. Lights? You certainly don’t have to, so Sony, get those stroboscopes off your speakers. Power bank functionality is also not exactly a must: 2 percent find that very important in a portable speaker. 8 percent like to take the speaker with them everywhere, which is why it is useful if it is nice and small.

peter_ippel touches on another important factor: “Good sound quality and long battery life are the two must-haves for me.” Indeed, it comes in handy if it lasts your entire BBQ or beach session. Hopefully many more will follow this summer. Have fun!
