Aix-Marseille University is the subject of a major cyberattack
Aix-Marseille University has experienced disruptions since Wednesday following a cyberattack. Access has been cut, whether for the ENT or any website.
“Since this morning, we no longer have access to anything. Neither to the ENT (the internal IT portal) nor to any website. Even with another connection external to that of the college, we cannot access the school site”testifies the president of the UNEF student union in Aix-Marseille to the Parisian. It turns out that the computer network of the various sites of the faculty has been completely disrupted.
“Students go to class but staff who cannot do without the Internet to work are invited to go home”said Clara Bufi, director of communication of the University.
The teams were warned of the cyberattack at the end of the morning by an alert system. They did what was necessary to restore the network, at least for the day. “The very rapid reaction of our services made it possible to avoid potentially significant damage”assures Clara Bufi.
The problem is what happened behind the scenes. Have hackers been able to collect data? “If personal data is leaked, it can be very serious. The university stores all information on its digital servers. The identities, the associations’ data, their bank details, our payment information… We don’t yet know what risk we are going to face.”says the president of the UNEF student union in Aix-Marseille.
