Activision teases Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The first teaser is a fact and we are now almost certain that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2) is coming.
Activision may do all kinds of weird things with Warzone, but luckily fans can also expect a ‘normal’ Call of Duty. This weekend, the publisher dropped several hints about Modern Warfare 2. It will probably take another month for the first trailer to come out, but the game is definitely coming!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Teaser
This weekend, Infinity Ward’s social media channels went black. The profile picture on the twitter page for example, is apparently completely dark. This is an obvious nod to the epic teaser of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) where the iconic Captain Price utters the tagline ‘Bravo Six going dark’.
Secretly, on the other hand, the image is not completely black. IGN lit up the picture and saw another iconic CoD character appear: Ghost. His signature mask with a skull on it is clearly visible in the image. Ghost is a key character in multiple Call of Duty’s, including MW2 (2009), Warzone, and Modern Warfare (2019).

By the way, this teaser would have been released a bit early. According to the usually well-informed leaker Tom Henderson, the reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for the end of May. Until then, we’ll have to make do with a vague image, but from there we can expect trailer and actual details.
Another MW2?!
For now, we’re talking about Modern Warfare 2, but everyone and their mother hopes another name will be invented. It’s starting to get pretty confusing.
The 2019 reboot was given practically the same name as the 2007 blockbuster Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and the sequel to the 2022 reboot would bear the same name as the perfect 2009 sequel. No wonder Infinity Ward has a name. trying to crowdsource†
