Acer Chromebooks appear in new models: here they are
Acer has announced a series of new Chromebooks. These are laptops with Google’s Chrome OS. In total there are four different models, some of which also appear in other editions.
New Acer Chromebooks
If you’re looking for a new Chromebook, it’s good to know that Acer has announced four new models. The four models are positioned in different price ranges, which means that it should appeal to a broad target group.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514, of which there will also be an Enterprise edition. This is fanless, which makes it extra quiet. The device offers a 14-inch Full-HD IPS LCD touchscreen, has an Intel Core i7 11th generation chipset and gets 16GB of RAM from Acer. The internal memory is 512GB. According to Acer, the battery can last 10 hours on one battery charge. The aluminum Chromebook also offers two USB-C ports, WiFi 6, DTS Audio and a 3.5 millimeter connection. The Spin 514 is also equipped with two USB-A connections.
Then there’s the Acer Chromebook 515. This Chromebook is equipped with a 15.6-inch screen, also an IPS LCD screen with Full-HD resolution. Here we also see 16GB and 512GB of memory and there is also a memory card reader on board. There are stereo speakers and a dual microphone, which can come in handy for video calls. Thanks to a special slot, you can shield the webcam. The Acer Chromebook 514 comes with a 14.0 inch matte screen. With this model there is a MediaTek Kompanio 828 chipset, a battery that lasts 15 hours. After half an hour of charging, it is already half full.
Finally, there is the Acer Chromebook Spin 314. This cheaper model offers a 14.0 inch screen, 10 hours of battery life and offers a so-called OceanGlass touchpad; it is made from plastic waste. This model also offers WiFi 6 support, a flexible screen and a slot for a MicroSD memory card.
availabilty
The Chromebook Spin 314 will be available later this month from 449 euros. The Spin 514 will also be available this month for 799 euros. For the Acer Chromebook 515 you lose (from) 549 euros, while the 514 goes home for a starting price of 399 euros.
