According to a well-known insider, Valve does not work on Half-Life 3 -apkrig

Insider Tyler McVicker, who runs the Valve News Network on YouTube, brings more behind-the-scenes news. In his latest video, he focuses on the Half-Life series, around which he began to be seriously alive with the release of the great Half-Life: Alyx. In particular, the ending clearly indicates that the series has a place to move, and players are naturally hungry for other parts that would further develop the story of Gordon Freeman and other characters. According to McVicker, however, fans must get a taste, because according to credible sources, a large continuation of the series is not on the agenda.

“No, there is currently no larger team working on anything other than a few smaller things that are specifically tailored to the new hardware right now,” says McVicker, referring to the aforementioned Steam Deck. According to the insider, the announcement of the laptop caused a much bigger crack than Valve had originally calculated, and it was for this reason that the management had to decide to redirect efforts to the introduction of the handheld and its immediate support. Those who could work on a potential continuation of Half-Life, therefore, at best form only a small team without ambitions to push their idea above, and it is therefore pointless to take into account such a project, taking into account the corporate culture.

Still, McVicker doesn’t sink hopes for Half-Life completely. He has been talking several times about the Citadel project, which by its name obviously refers to a famous series and, according to the insider, is really supposed to play the role of a fan favorite. “It’s a festival of nostalgia. It is a combination of a shooter and a real-time strategy from the world of Half-Life, which will be possible to play cooperatively, “says McVicker, referring to his sources. In an effort to define the project more precisely, he claims that it is as if Left 4 Dead, Alien Swarm, Half-Life and real-time strategies have a child, with the inclusion of VR in the past. According to McVicker, however, Valve abandoned it and development continues in standard mode. At the same time, when Steam Deck is finally released after the start of next year, a significant number of people who are currently helping with the hardware will return to the Citadel project and will continue to work hard on it.
