A free Netflix subscription can look like this
Spotify is free to use, so why not Netflix with a free subscription? It does exist recently, but not for us.
Here in the west and the richest parts of Asia they know Netflix. However, there are still plenty of areas where Netflix can gain enough. This mainly concerns countries where the average citizen has less to spend. A subscription to Netflix is not so self-evident. The American streaming service then has to come up with something else to grab market share here too.
Netflix has therefore started a trial to offer a free subscription. They do this in the African country of Kenya. A small portion of the gigantic Netflix library is free for Kenyans to watch with this subscription form. In addition, you can only watch from a smartphone with Android. Switching on from an iPhone or Netflix in this way peeping through the television is not possible.
With this test, Netflix examines whether there is an appetite for such a form of content. Of course, the streaming service hopes that this way Kenyans will become curious about the other content on Netflix. Other content that requires a paid subscription form. Kenya takes the scoop with a free Netflix subscription. It is not known whether the streaming service will also try this concept in other countries.
