OnePlus Nord and 7 (T) series are next for Android 11; also comes to 6 and 6T

OnePlus has previously started rolling out the update to Android 11 for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Now more information is coming on this update for the OnePlus 7, 7T series and Nord models. There is also news for the 6 and 6T.

OnePlus shares information about Android 11

The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have been running on Android 11 for a few weeks now. The most recently released OnePlus 8T already runs on Android 11 out of the box. However, the manufacturer is busy and is developing the new version for other models. Not surprisingly, OnePlus says that the 7T series is the next series to receive the update, along with the 7 series and the Nord.

Next week, OnePlus will start an Open Beta build for Android 11 with OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus Nord. It should also be available for 7 Series and 7T Series devices around the same time. The data encryption problem has been resolved in collaboration with Qualcomm.

OnePlus has further confirmed that the OnePlus 6, 6T, Nord N10 and Nord N100 can expect the update to Android 11 at a later time. It is a pity that OnePlus does not give any indication about this. The devices for the 6 series (such as the 5 and 5T) will not get the update to Android 11. The 5 and 5T were released in 2017; the three years of OS updates have thus passed.
