Beware of fake emails. The attackers are now trying it on VUB banka’s clients
Fake emails are still in vogue. With them, attackers try to obtain login details for internet banking from the bank’s client. The email contains a link to a page that looks like it’s a bank page. But it is not. The client is asked to enter his login details or payment card details.
In this way, fraudsters access the sensitive data of the bank’s client without his knowledge and can turn him over for money. Such an attack is now targeted at users of VUB banka, which informs about it on its website. The living.aktuality.sk portal was the first to address the topic.
“However, the bank does not send such emails. The text contains errors and incomplete information. The sender has an atypical email address, the link to Internet banking is fake and has a completely different format. These are all things to look out for, even if the bank has state-of-the-art mechanisms to capture these fraudulent activities and protect clients’ funds. ”
Vladimír Jančok, Head of the Information Security Department of VUB Bank.
