How does the stamp code work? This is how you buy the code in the PostNL app

Do you just want to send a card to someone, but you don’t have a stamp to hand? Then the postage stamp code is the solution for you. That’s because it’s a stamp that you just write down. android world explains how you can easily create it in the PostNL app.

PostNL stamp code

The stamp code consists of nine numbers and letters and you can order and receive it within one minute. Then you write the code in the place of the stamp on the card or envelope. The card can then be placed directly in the letterbox. Please note, the stamp code you buy in the PostNL app is valid for 5 days.

1. Open the PostNL app
2. Tap on Send and then on letter
3. Tap on Buy stamp code and choose from the following options:

• Letter 0 – 20 grams (Max. 32.4 x 22.9 cm, 2 sheets A4) – €0.96
• Letter 20 – 50 grams (Max. 32.4 x 22.9 cm, 3 to 6 sheets A4) – €1.92
• Letter 50 – 100 grams (Max. 32.4 x 22.9 cm, 7 to 14 sheets A4) – € 2.88
• Letter 100 – 350 grams (Max. 32.4 x 22.9 cm, 15 to 49 sheets A4) – € 3.84
• Letter 350 grams – 2 kg (Max 38 x 26.5 x 3.2 cm, up to 400 sheets A4) – € 4.50
• Registered letter 0 – 2 kg – €8.55

So you can use a postage stamp code for mail weighing up to 2 kg and you can already send a card from 0.96 euros within the Netherlands. Once you have made your choice, you agree to PostNL’s general terms and conditions. Then you choose your bank and you can pay the stamp code via your mobile banking app. Now all you have to do is write the stamp code in the place of the stamp and put the card or letter in the letterbox.
