the new features for your Apple Watch
Apple has made watchOS 8.6 beta 1 available to developers. The update mainly contains security updates and bug fixes. Read more about the new software for the Apple Watch in this article.

watchOS 8.6 beta 1: here’s what’s new
The first beta of watchOS 8.6 is now out for developers. In contrast to the new betas of iOS, iPadOS and macOS, unfortunately we hardly see any new future functions with this watchOS (yet). A month ago, watchOS 8.5 got a whole bunch of new emojis.
The new update of watchOS 8.6 beta 1 is therefore mainly there to improve the stability of the Apple Watch. It also probably fixes (minor) bugs and closes security holes. This new Apple Watch software may be the last before Apple launches watchOS 9 during WWDC 2022 in June.
watchOS 8.6: Just a little while longer!
To update to the new software, an Apple Watch must have at least a 50 percent battery, be on the charger, and be within range of an iPhone. However, this update is only available to developers. You would have to wait a little longer for the real new watchOS 8.6 to be able to perform this update. You can also sign up to become a beta tester.
We think the only improvement with watchOS 8.6 beta 1 is in the charging of the Apple Watch Series 7. It was unable to charge with third-party fast chargers due to software issues.
watchOS 8.5 did get a striking addition
The previous software version for the Apple Watch, watchOS 8.5, did receive a major improvement. This software supports a whole bunch of new emojis on Apple’s smartwatch. Think of a melting face, sensual lips, a pregnant man and half a face.
In addition to a beta for watchOS 8.6, Apple has also released developer versions for iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, and macOS 12.4.
