It is no longer possible to buy apps from the App Store in Russia
After product sales are discontinued and display advertising in the App Store is removed, Apple seems to have restricted its activities a little more in the country led by Vladimir Putin. Many Russian users claim thatit is now impossible to buy an app via the App Store in Russia. The block applies to all types of payments, including those made from accounts already funded with iTunes gift cards. Paying for apps directly via mobile accounts is also no longer allowed.
It is impossible to know at present whether these new constraints result from a decision by Apple or Russia, but one thing is certain: the Apple ecosystem in Russia is now in a dry state. At the time of writing these lines, we also learn that Sony, Nintendo or even Amazon have just suspended their activities in Russia, which follows a very long list of “withdrawals” (MacDonalds, Microsoft, Ikea, PayPal, Visa, H&M, Mastercard, Samsung, CD Projekt RED, Activision, EA, etc.).
