Assassin’s Creed was originally intended to end in space
By Assassin’s Creed standards, the story of the Desmond trilogy even somewhat grounded. Interestingly, part 3 almost ended in space. Researcher Lars de Wildt investigates, among other things, the topic of religion in connection with video games. In a his works there is an interesting footnote on the subject of Assassin’s Creed 3 and the original ending of the story. (Lars de Wildt via Eurogamer).
In an interview, a developer told de Wildt that AC 3 was supposed to end on a spaceship. Assassin’s Creed was planned as a self-contained trilogy and should have a grand finale at the end. With the knowledge and skills of Altair, Ezio, and Connor, Desmond would have taken on Abstergo and even won. The world would actually end in 2012 and Desmond would have gone into space in a spaceship with Lucy Stillmanto get there found a new civilization as Adam and Eve.
AC 3 ends Desmond’s story, but in a very different way.
The entire story of Assassin’s Creed is now a real video game monster:
Why the new ending?
One can only speculate about this. On the one hand, the story didn’t go with the plans to continue the Assassin’s Creed series, on the other hand, Hollywood actress Kristen Bell (spokeswoman for Lucy Stillman) is said to have asked for more money for future appearances. If we look at the series from today’s perspective, thanks to all the gods, Layla Hassan experiences all sorts of crazy things that can keep up with a spaceship and the “Adam and Eve” ending.
