Samsung TVs: This is what awaits us in 2022

Micro LED TVs: Samsung improves the top class

Maybe a little too big: Samsung is continuing to work on its top-of-the-range televisions with micro-LED technology. The smart TVs, which are gigantic in terms of size and price, have a 20-bit gray level depth and 100 percent coverage of the DCI and Adobe RGB color spaces increased. The “Lifestyle” models from Samsung – The Frame, The Serif and The Sero – do not receive any groundbreaking innovations, apart from the redesigned display. The panels were specially designed for minimal reflection and should reject fingerprints.

New Smart Hub: TVs are becoming multifunctional devices

The 2022 models in the highest price ranges as well as the lifestyle TVs will receive a new Smart Hub. Samsung wants one here Integrate gaming hub, through which game libraries can be streamed. GeForce Now from Nvidia, Google Stadia and Utomik will be available at the start.

Expensive high-end TVs: Samsung shows what is possible

What Samsung is planning for televisions in 2022 sounds exciting and innovative, but: The Innovation is limited to the most expensive models. Apart from The Frame, currently the most successful Samsung TV, the models we tested for 2022 are hardly suitable for private use.

For many customers, Samsung’s plans are more a sign of what is technically possible – only top earners can strike. One of the most exciting questions is: Will Samsung also deliver its new Smart Hub to other devices, such as mid-range models from 2022 or even on older devices?
