iPhone madness breaks loose during Black Friday’

Despite ongoing production issues, it could be a fun quarter for Apple. A Wedbush analyst expects Apple to sell about 40 million iPhones between Black Friday and Christmas — a record.

During the last quarter, Apple has been posting staggering numbers for years thanks to the holidays. Last year, the company crossed the magical mark of 100 billion dollars in turnover for the first time. The main source of income was the iPhone, which will also fly out of stores during Black Friday 2021, Wedbush chief analyst Daniel Ives predicts.

According to the analyst, Apple could sell more than 80 million iPhones in the last quarter of 2021. Ives expects that things are going wild, especially between Black Friday and Christmas. Apple is said to be on track to sell about 40 million iPhone units, the highest number ever in that period.

Chip shortages

Ives’ prediction is striking, because Apple is now also experiencing the worldwide chip shortages. The Wedbush analyst is also counting on increasingly longer delivery times for the iPhone 13 Pro and expects demand to outpace supply by about 15 percent. Still, the supply issues will be just “a minor hurdle in a multi-year supercycle,” Ives believes.

The AirPods will also be in demand in the coming months, according to the analyst. The signs of strong sales should already be visible, and Ives predicts that Apple will ship nearly 100 million AirPods. Undoubtedly, the new AirPods 3, which Apple released recently, are in demand.
