IPhone 8: Apple ends motherboard replacement program
This is the end of the motherboard replacement program for the iPhone 8. Apple had launched it in 2018 and noted that it was only for the standard model. The iPhone 8 Plus was fine.

At the time, Apple ensured “That a very small percentage of iPhone 8 contain motherboards with a manufacturing defect”. The phones in question might experience unexpected reboots, a frozen screen, or not be able to turn on. The program allowed customers to have a free motherboard replacement for their iPhone 8.
Also according to Apple, the iPhone 8 concerned were the models sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macao, New Zealand and the United States. Customers in these regions were encouraged to contact the manufacturer to take advantage of the motherboard replacement program free of charge.
Three years later, this program no longer exists. “The Apple service program you are looking for is no longer available. For a list of active programs, see the Apple Service Programs page », indicates the Apple site. Indeed, the one for the iPhone 8 is no longer listed on the dedicated page.
