discover these crazy concepts with double and triple hinges!
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected for the year 2021 and should logically establish itself as the most successful foldable smartphone from Samsung. It must be said that the debut of the first Galaxy Fold of the name had turned out to be complicated, in particular due to several technical problems.
The second iteration, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, erased the vast majority of the Galaxy Fold’s mistakes and quickly found success, despite a rather prohibitive price tag of € 2,200 (for the 5G compatible version). Fans of the South Korean brand’s foldable smartphones are therefore eagerly awaiting the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
For the moment, very little information has filtered about him. According to recent rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 should carry a selfie sensor under the foldable screen, via proprietary technology. In addition, Samsung should offer it at a price close to that of the Z Fold 2, around € 2,000.
The first 3D concepts of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 surface
However, on this Friday, December 24, 2020, the specialist seller Pigtou and the famous leaker David Kowalsky, better known by the alias @ xleaks7, have just published new 3D concepts of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. These renderings are based on data from several Samsung patent applications.
Thus and thanks to his information, the leaker imagined two models of the foldable smartphone, one with two hinges, and the other with no less than three hinges. On the first iteration, the two hinges are placed on the sides of the device. In fact, the Z Fold 3 sports a tablet format, even before folding.
Once the two parts are unfolded, the user would end up with a large format tablet, similar to a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite for example. The quadruple photo sensor is housed in the left pane, while the right pane is occupied by a panel equipped with the under-screen selfie sensor mentioned above.
Then we come to the model with three hinges, undoubtedly the most original. In this configuration, the hinges are always located on the sides, except that they open in opposite directions. The result is a fairly thick smartphone format (due to the three successive layers) and a fairly generous tablet format. The main advantage of the three hinges is to be able to multiply the possible configurations, for example to use the Galaxy Z Fold 3 placed on a table. What do you think of these concepts?
