Samsung’s Android 12 beta is coming, why we’re not excited
Samsung will soon release its One UI 4.0 beta and so the devices of the brand can taste Android 12 for the first time. Only the beta is again not expected to be accessible to Dutch and Belgians. So it remains to wait for the stable update.
Samsung OneUI 4.0
The beta of One UI 4.0 is coming. Samsung is adapting its software shell to the improvements of Android 12, and the intention is that enthusiastic users first get started with the software so that errors can be fixed for the stable version
A user on Samsung’s forum claims to have insider information because of his job, and states that the One UI 4.0 beta is expected in mid-September, first for the S21 series. TizenHelp confirms that info, Samsung is working on a new version of One UI for the S21 series in South Korea. That software has the build number ‘G991NKSU3ZUHE’, and the ‘Z’ indicates that it is beta software.
Not in the Netherlands
Unfortunately, as a user of the S21, you cannot count on being able to test Android 12 and One UI 4.0 next month. For years, Samsung has been in the habit of not releasing the beta versions for its phones in the Netherlands. In neighboring countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom you can download the test software.
It is not surprising in itself that Dutch users are not able to test, because we often see this with Chinese smartphone brands. Manufacturers like OPPO and Xiaomi are launching their beta in the home country. That policy differs with OnePlus, which is launching an open beta worldwide for the new version of OxygenOS. However, Samsung will probably be one of the first manufacturers to have its stable Android 12 update ready, even if we skip the beta version in the Netherlands.
One UI 4.0 screenshots
It is not the first time that information about One UI 4.0 has appeared, as we were shown alleged screenshots of the software shell, and earlier there were reports of an early start of the beta. What was striking about the screenshots was that Samsung comes with its own interpretation of Google’s Material You design. Do you want to know more about what you can expect from functions?
