What does the Porsche mobile app offer?

The Porsche Connect application takes the carmaker into a new, digital era. Supported vehicles include Porsche 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, 718 or electric Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo, on which we also tested it.

With the Porsche Connect app, you can enjoy all the benefits of your vehicle even in the digital world. You always have the necessary information or important settings at hand, right on your smartphone.

The application really offers a lot. For the first time, owners of supported vehicles now have the option of ordering individual functions after purchasing a vehicle directly via their smartphone. You don’t have to visit the store at all, you can do everything in a few clicks via the e-shop, even from the comfort of your home.

The possibilities of the Porsche Connect application will be further expanded. In the future, for example, Porsche is preparing the possibility to order via the My Porsche portal also for service.

Easy installation

You can easily download the application in the Google Play store for Android or the App Store for the iOS operating system. Then just register with your Porsche ID. You will receive this by e-mail automatically when you buy the vehicle.

As the car contains an integrated SIM card with internet, you will always have an overview of its position and everything important with the Porsche Connect application anytime, anywhere.

In addition, the SIM card brings other benefits, such as streaming music via Apple Music, synchronized Google Calendar and other functions.

What does the application offer?

The application will show you your car immediately after launch. With a simple flick of your finger, you can switch views from a different angle and see which doors are open or whether the vehicle is locked.

There are three buttons at the top of the screen. You can use them to turn on the lights remotely, lock the vehicle or blow the horn. The use of the option for remote trumpeting, when there is also a flash of turn signals, is useful when looking for a car in the parking lot or even when trying to scare off a suspect or animal.

Swipe down to get more useful information. Right at the beginning you see the current range and of course the data from the last ride is not missing.

You can immediately see how many kilometers you have traveled since the last start, how long the ride took, what the average speed was and, of course, the consumption data. Information on the total mileage and service intervals is available below, which may be useful.

Using the application, it is also possible to set a warning for exceeding the speed you set, which can be useful in cases where you rent a vehicle to someone. You can also receive a warning when the car moves from where it was parked.

Another useful feature is to display the vehicle directly on the map. Ideal for when you parked in a large parking lot and don’t remember exactly where it was.

In the Navigation section, you can conveniently plan your journey and then send it to the vehicle infotainment. Then all you have to do is get behind the wheel and the navigation will navigate you directly to your destination on the road you have planned.
