It makes female role models visible – and you should follow them

Women deserve more recognition and prestige in the business world, says manager Anja Hendel. She introduces female role models on LinkedIn. With resounding success.

They come reliably every year on International Women’s Day: the stories about strong women in business and society. Anja Hendel thinks this is good and important, but notes that this form of attention should not only take place on a single day. “From my point of view, there are many women who deserve far more attention,” says the Diconium manager in an interview with t3n. So a few weeks ago she decided to go on their own Linkedin channel to start a format that gives them a stage all year round. “With ‘Show To Grow’ I would like to use my reach to introduce women who have something exciting to say, but who have so far hardly been noticed, ”she says. Hendel wants to make other managers visible.

Show To Grow: A female role model every week

That’s why she publishes a post about an exciting woman every week. Her main focus is on stepping out of the media bubble and, above all, showing female managers who are still largely unknown. “We often see the same women in public, I want to show that there is a lot more,” said Hendel in an interview with t3n. She has already worked with many protagonists. Each of them touched, inspired or inspired her. Her first post shows her colleague Lunia Hara, who is committed to diversity and agility at Diconium. “These are two topics that are also very close to my heart,” says Anja Hendel. Since then, 20 more women have moved up. the the most successful contribution is presented by the manager Insa Klasing.

“People look for inspiration on a business network.”

Klasing launches Innocent Drinks on the German market in his mid-twenties. The company is based in the UK and specializes in making smoothies and fruit juices. In her early 30s, she became the head of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Germany and has doubled sales in this country. After a serious riding accident and the associated weeks of absence from the office, Anja Hendel reports on her LinkedIn profile, she noticed how well Klasing’s team performed with more autonomy and freedom. It was from this experience that Klasing wrote the book “The 2-hour boss”. To date, the mini-portrait has had over 2,000 interactions. Many have given the post a “Like” rating.

Anja Hendel has a plausible explanation for the fact that the series is doing so well: “On a business network, people look for inspiration and impulses in a professional context. Without having planned it, ‘Show to Grow’ fulfills exactly these needs. ”Due to the high number of characters, the network allows her to tell little anecdotes. She takes great pleasure in working out what makes these managers so special to her. “I think a lot of people like to read these snacks when they’re on social media.” Time and again, the comment columns contain numerous thanks, but also their own anecdotes. Other followers suggest interesting women who could be mentioned.

Female role models bring about change

The success of her series spurs Anja Hendel on. “Actually, I only wanted to release the format for a year, but I will probably keep going,” she says. Because there would be enough inspiring women.
