Spotify comes with a new HiFi subscription for high-quality streaming
Music service Spotify has announced a new subscription form during a virtual event. It’s about Spotify HiFi where you can listen to lossless music in the highest quality.

Various music platforms such as Tidal and Amazon Music already offer the possibility to listen to music as lossless audio. This is the highest quality, which is referred to as CD quality. Spotify will soon also offer this option, the originally Swedish music service has announced. According to Spotify, it was in high demand from users. At the moment the maximum bitrate is 320 Kbps. Spotify HiFi will also work with the Spotify Connect speakers.
It is not yet known when Spotify will make the new subscription type available. The company does indicate that this will initially be in selected countries, and it is not clear whether the Netherlands is in the middle. It seems Spotify has been alluding to the idea for years. In 2017, several users received a proposal to use the function. The additional cost was between 5 and 10 euros per month. This amount is in addition to the subscription costs of 10 euros per month. The comparable subscription types at Amazon and Tidal amount to 15 and 20 euros.
