Windy app brings extension to Wear OS smartwatches
Windy got an update. In addition to owners of the Apple Watch, people with a Wear OS smartwatch on their wrist can now also use the weather app.

Windy for Wear OS
The Windy smartwatch app comes with three different tiles for your watch home screen. Two of these tiles show a 3 and 4 day weather forecast, and the third provides a regular overview of the day. The menu of the app gives access to the weather forecast and the weather radar. Below we explain in detail how you can use the functions on your Wear OS smartwatch.

Weather forecast
When you open the Windy app you will find three tabs. The first tab is the weather forecast, where you can view a classic forecast for the next few days.
Each day can be expanded to show a detailed forecast in 3-hour increments, including weather data such as temperature, wind direction and force, and precipitation.
You can view the weather forecast directly from your Windy Watch Face by simply tapping the screen of your smartwatch.
Weather radar
The option for tracking real-time precipitation and storm systems is of course not missing; it’s the second tab in the app’s menu.
To start the radar animation, tap the play button on the screen and view the current and previous radar images for your location. You can also adjust the zoom level by swiping your finger around the edge of the watch’s screen.
Institutions
Personalization is of paramount importance at Windy. The settings menu allows you to customize the app to your preferences. Here you will find options for units of measurement (metric or imperial), weather models and radar, where you can choose whether you want to see country names and borders. If you don’t want that, you can disable both.
To get Windy WearOS on your smartwatch, search for the app in the Google Play Store on your smartwatch. Tap ‘Install’ and have it at your fingertips again!
