Outlook is getting a much-needed update. This will be the biggest ever, read here what to expect.

Outlook is the founder of modern e-mail. Who hasn’t created one, two, or more email addresses with this Microsoft service? Outlook has not had a significant update since 1997. It will come now.

Outlook update

An update for Outlook is nothing nothing. That is why the company announced this already in 2019. Microsoft often lets you know via a message on their site. So now again. The whole thing has been removed from preview mode and that can only mean one thing: that the update will be officially rolled out. What will be changed anyway is the user experience in the outlook calendar and several bugs have also been fixed. This was already known, because tens of thousands of people already used the preview version daily. These people have sent feedback to Microsoft.

Changes

The speed and reliability of Outlook shared calendars will improve. It is still common that it could take minutes for changes to a shared calendar to come through. And that is no longer of this time. The update has to deal with this. Synchronization should be instant.

“The update is probably one of the biggest changes to Outlook for Windows since its original launch in 1997,” Microsoft said in the blog post. Despite this, the company hopes that users will not notice that something has been changed. Microsoft is not going to tamper with the basics of Outlook. That works fine and they wish they would keep it.

Other adjustments are minor, but do make it easier to use. For example, you can accept an appointment without a response. Microsoft is slowly rolling out the update. After the summer everyone should have the update.
