Scams: how to protect yourself and denounce with Signal Conso?
Launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Signal Conso is a platform facilitating interactions between consumers and the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention. Since then, the solution has been widely adopted, making it possible to report questionable or misleading commercial practices. Since May 22, Signal Conso has therefore been reinforced with an application for smartphones.

A tool to protect the consumer
To protect consumers against unscrupulous professionals, the government launched three years ago the Signal Conso platform. From the interface, hitherto accessible only via a website, the user can inform the DGCCRF of an abusive practice, a dispute with a professional, or even an outright scam.
And the figures prove that it meets an expectation. In less than three years, more than 500,000 reports have been filed. In the last 12 months alone, 195,000 problems have been escalated to the fraud prevention department: online purchases, renovation work, travel, leisure, stores… All sectors are concerned.
A strengthened reporting system
The State has therefore just deployed a mobile application for Signal Conso. The goal is simple, to make reporting as easy as possible for the consumer. A new interface for this platform therefore, which for the time being brings together more than 71% favorable reviews on the Service Public + online rating tool.

With this new tool, the assumed objective of the State is also to optimize the action of the DGCCRF. Indeed, thanks to the reports of users, the services of the fight against fraud can more easily identify the companies and professionals likely to be checked.
