Samsung Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy A52 get December security update

Samsung is rolling out a new update for four of its devices. It is security update December 2022, which will now be rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the Galaxy A52. The update contains a bunch of patches for your phone’s security.

Galaxy S22: December security update

Normally Samsung is there like the chickens with the Galaxy S22 series that receives a new security update, but this month other devices of the brand were updated first. Now is the time for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra to be updated with the latest security patch for Android. The three models will now receive the December 2022 security update in the Netherlands and Belgium. No less than 81 patches are implemented in this update. Although these are not directly intended for all devices, this is at least a good number. In addition to the patches from Google, Samsung itself has also added a series of its own patches for December to the update.

Samsung also promises with the update for the Galaxy S22 series that the overall stability of functions will be improved, although this is not discussed in detail. It is also a major update, with the size coming out at a small 446MB in the case of the Galaxy S22 +. The size may vary slightly per model. As far as we know, no new functions or major changes have been implemented.

Galaxy A52

This week, the Galaxy A52s was already updated with the December update; now it is the turn of the predecessor of this device. From now on, the Samsung Galaxy A52 will also be offered the December security update. Again, no new features or major changes that have been made.
