Huawei is coming under increasing pressure. New devices from the Chinese company have been banned in the United States. This also increases the pressure on the German government to take action against Chinese companies. But nothing will come of it, according to a spokesman.
Huawei will not be banned in Germany
The US government made headlines a few days ago when, for the first time in history, the FCC banned the approval of new Huawei products in general. This not only applies to mobile phones, which have played no role on the US market anyway, but primarily to hardware for network and surveillance technology. The ban in the USA is also increasing the political pressure on Germany not to become dependent on China, as happened with Russia with regard to gas. A spokesman for the Ministry of Economic Affairs told Reuters that the German government is not following the US path for a blanket ban on Huawei hardware, but instead is making case-by-case decisions as before. According to one strategy paper of the Federal Ministry of Economics, Submitted to Reuters, there is a “detailed recommendation for increased testing of the use of components from certain countries”. The paper dates from 2020 and sets high hurdles for manufacturers like Huawei. If false information is given, a ban can result.

Huawei is said to be slowly leaving Europe
Even if at first glance nothing changes in Germany, especially for end customers, and everything remains the same, Huawei should slowly withdraw from the European market after the US ban at the latest and concentrate more on the domestic market again. Accordingly, the risks on the European market are currently far too great. Time will tell if Huawei is slowly disappearing from Europe. The company now not only offers smartphones, but also many other hardware such as smartwatches, headphones, monitors and so on.
