Risen was released on October 2, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PC. 13 years later there is now a new release for other platforms. owner of one PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch will be able to start their adventure again on January 24th on the volcanic island of Faranga.

Publisher THQ Nordic has announced that Risen will finally run smoothly and in full quality on consoles. In addition, there is also a Update for the PC version, so players can play there with gamepad too. A physical version of the RPG will be released in North America exclusively at GameStop for PlayStation 4 and Switch. Risen was developed by the German developer Piranha Bytes and is considered the spiritual successor to the popular Gothic series. The setting is the island of Faranga, which is being terrorized by monsters.
