1. Beach and forest combing – Rockanje
Between Rockanje and Oostvoorne is an area full of beaches, forests, dunes and lakes: ideal for strolling through with your children. This ANWB route is long, 18 kilometers, but you can of course also walk it partially. Bring a well-filled backpack or picnic basket for a break on the road. Extra fun about this walk: at the Brede Water you can look for birds from behind a bird watching screen.
2. Noordhollands Duinreservaat – Bergen aan Zee
Do you want to come face to face with Scottish Highlanders, ponies and wild horses? Then walk this beautiful route in the Noordhollands Duinreservaat. You walk through wide dunes – the widest in the Netherlands – and almost the entire route leads through a grazing area.

3. Dunes of South Kennemerland – Santpoort-North
This hiking area is beautiful to visit every year, but especially in the fall. So put on a warm scarf and boots for your child, take mittens and a hat with you, just in case, and off you go to the dunes of Zuid-Kennemerland. A little further away is the beach pavilion Beach Inn, one of the beach bars that are open all year round. Ideal for a nice piece of apple pie or a portion of bitterballen afterwards.
4. Walking route De Koploper – Goeree-Overflakkee
A route of Nature Moments that is 20 kilometers long, but you can also shorten it (11 or 8 kilometers). Along the way you will find blue marked posts that you can follow. You walk, among other things, via a nice lookout tower with a wide view over the sea and the beach. The chance that you will spot a seal is quite high, because they regularly swim off the coast of Zeeland and South Holland.
5. Kijkduin – The Hague
Handy: this walking route starts at the Kijkduin bus stop. You do not have to park your car expensive, but you can simply take public transport to Kijkduin to take this walk. It is 13 km long and you walk along the beach and through the dunes on the way. Along the way you will also pass’ Pluk! Den Haag ‘, a petting zoo and vegetable garden in one. Ideal for a nice rest and a drink and if you have time, it is of course so nice to pick fruit or plants with your child.
6. Langeveld – Noordwijk walking route
This walk from Staatsbosbeheer is ideal for children. It is only 3.5 km long and runs right through the open dunes and over the beach. Along the way you will come across beautiful viewpoints and if you have a dog, it can also come along between 15 March and 15 August (on a leash). Start and end point in Noordwijk.
